Effective date: August 17, 2026. This page describes how the Chrome extension handles data and permissions.

Overview

Mantescreen captures screenshots only after the user starts a capture from the extension popup or keyboard shortcut.

Data Handling

  • Mantescreen does not collect, sell, transmit, or analyze user data.
  • Screenshots are created locally in Chrome.
  • Screenshots are saved to the user's Downloads folder.
  • Screenshots are copied to the local clipboard when Chrome permits image clipboard writes.
  • Screenshots are not uploaded to any server.
  • Mantescreen does not use analytics and does not load remote code.

Permissions

  • activeTab: Lets Mantescreen access only the current active tab after the user starts a capture.
  • scripting: Injects the packaged capture helper into the current page to measure scrollable content, scroll the page, and restore it afterward.
  • downloads: Saves the generated screenshot file to the user's Downloads folder.
  • clipboardWrite: Copies the generated PNG screenshot to the user's local clipboard after capture.
  • host permissions: Allows full-page screenshot capture on arbitrary websites and embedded frames only when the user starts a capture.

Remote Code

Mantescreen does not load remote code. All executable code is included in the extension package submitted to the Chrome Web Store.
